Modern action cameras, in combination with tablets, provide us with new pedagogical opportunities.
The method which has been utilised, in short, works as follows:
The instructor identifies problematic elements which then become the subject of focus and are worked on; these are filmed in short segments of a maximum of twenty seconds.
The instructor stops the student and pulls the mini-tablet out of his or her pocket. After a few seconds, the film sequence is transferred from the helmet camera and into the analysis programme on the tablet.
The instructor goes through the sequence with the student, perhaps with the help of slow motion and markup capabilities in the analysis program (see the screenshot above).
The sequence is repeated if necessary.
